Which Platform Fits the Matter

The choice is made in the early case assessment, with input from the retaining firm and (where applicable) from the client’s in-house eDiscovery team. The specific considerations that shape the routing:

• Population size and complexity. Small-to-mid populations (typically under a few hundred thousand documents) and rapid-turn matters run efficiently on CompleteDiscovery. Enterprise-scale populations, matters with many concurrent reviewers, and matters with heavy technology-assisted-review workflows typically route to Relativity, Reveal or Nuix.
• Content type. Matters where messaging, mobile, audio or video review dominates the population run better on CompleteDiscovery, which was built for exactly these content types. Traditional document-heavy discovery routes either way depending on the other factors.
• Opposing counsel and court expectations. Where opposing counsel or the court expects a specific ecosystem (typically because that side is running in Relativity or Reveal and expects the production to slot into their environment cleanly), we run in that ecosystem so the productions align.
• Client preference and cost sensitivity. Cost-sensitive matters and matters where the client does not need the full commercial-platform feature set often route to CompleteDiscovery. Matters where the client’s in-house team is already on Relativity and prefers continuity route to Relativity.
• Existing platform relationships. Where the client has active workspaces on a specific commercial platform, we work in that environment so the matter aligns with the client’s existing information governance.

CompleteDiscovery is the review and evidence-analysis surface our team built and operates for the matters our Miami practice runs most often: small-to-mid populations, rapid-turn projects, and cases where the modern-data content types (messaging, mobile, audio, video) are the primary evidence rather than an add-on to traditional document review.

The platform is built around collection-oriented evidence review, with structured surfaces for the specific data types matters actually produce: Activity, Artifacts, Evidence, Graph, Overview, Reports, Search, Timeline, and Messages-style review views. Reviewers work in the environment that most closely matches the evidence itself, rather than a generic document viewer that flattens everything into a page-image-plus-text pattern.

• Purpose-built for modern data types. Messaging content reviewed with thread structure intact, mobile evidence reviewed with application-layer context, audio and video reviewed with transcripts and native playback, and timeline analysis for cross-source event reconstruction.

Relativity, Reveal and Nuix

For enterprise-scale matters or where opposing counsel or the court expects a specific commercial ecosystem, we run in Relativity, Reveal or Nuix. Our team holds the platform certifications each requires (Relativity RCA, RCU and Analytics; Reveal admin credentials; Nuix Master certifications) and has substantial matter experience across each platform.

• Relativity: the dominant enterprise-platform choice, particularly for matters where the receiving side is on Relativity and the production expectation is a native Relativity load. Support for Analytics, Assisted Review, Active Learning and the full Relativity feature stack.
• Reveal: Reveal (including Reveal Brainspace) for matters where the retaining firm or client prefers Reveal’s analytics workflow, particularly for early case assessment and privilege prediction.
• Nuix: Nuix for matters requiring deep processing of complex source populations, including large-scale forensic-adjacent review where Nuix’s processing throughput and format coverage carry the most value.
• Cross-platform continuity. Where a matter blends structured data or specialty modern-data content that reviews better on CompleteDiscovery with a traditional document-heavy population that runs on a commercial platform, we coordinate across both so the production is a single coherent delivery.

Modern Data: Where CompleteDiscovery Earns Its Keep

The traditional document-review paradigm was built for email and Office documents. Modern data does not fit that paradigm cleanly. A Slack thread is not one document; it is a conversation with reply structure, attachments and integrations. A WhatsApp export is not a document; it is a messaging record with media attachments and specific timestamp semantics. A mobile-device extraction is not a document set; it is an event stream with application-layer context. Audio and video content require transcription, playback and speaker attribution, not a page image.

Typically run on CompleteDiscovery for cost, rapid deployment and bilingual-review workflow, unless the matter is enterprise-scale or opposing counsel expects a specific ecosystem.

Modern-data-heavy matters

Run on CompleteDiscovery by default. Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, mobile extractions and audio/video review are the platform’s primary use case.

Insurance-carrier defense matters

Typically CompleteDiscovery, with vehicle electronic evidence, telematics, mobile extractions and traditional documents all reviewed in one workspace against the same provenance record.

Enterprise-scale corporate matters

Typically Relativity, Reveal or Nuix, particularly where the client’s in-house team has continuity requirements against a specific platform.

Regulatory matters

Platform routing driven by the specific regulator’s production expectations and by the receiving party’s platform. Coordination with regulatory counsel on the specific format and metadata expectations that apply.

Fintech, crypto and digital-asset matters

Often CompleteDiscovery, because the matters typically involve substantial messaging content (Slack, Discord, Telegram) and specialty platform-native content types that CompleteDiscovery handles more naturally than the traditional commercial ecosystem.

Standards and Standing

Methodology anchored on the EDRM, the Sedona Conference principles on the discovery of ESI, and the specific technology-assisted-review defensibility framework applicable under current federal court authorities.
